¡Hola! Did you know that each year in the United States, many people celebrate "Hispanic Heritage Month" from the 15th of September to the 15th of October?
St. Anthony's celebration of "Hispanic Heritage Month 2020" was a resounding success! Even though faced with the unprecedented situation of celebrating digitally, Señora Bunker, Señora García, Miss Tracy and their students rose to the challenge. Short, biographical video clips featuring teachers and students acting in the roles of luminaries from the Spanish-speaking world were presented daily. Even Mr. Thomasian got in on the act! Additionally, we learned about where tacos originated and how to make horchata and "Wholly Guacamole!"
The month culminated with three final Kahoot! games containing information pulled from the "biopics" in which the entire school participated. Each Kahoot! was exciting and competitive, but by the final whistle the champions had been crowned: Miss Andercheck's Kindergarten class, Sister Mary Olivia's 4th grade and Mrs. Fitzgerald's 6th grade class. ¡Hasta pronto!
